Meet Panayiotis

Meet Panayiotis Panaretos, a 22-year-old swimmer from Cyprus. Panayiotis has been competing in swimming events since he was a teenager, and has achieved numerous accolades throughout his career. Most notably, he came 1st and 2nd at the Games of Small States of Europe, 16th at the 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham.

Panayiotis was born and raised in Limassol, where he developed a love for swimming at a young age. He joined his swimming club at the age of 7 and quickly proved to be a talented athlete. When he was just 10 years old, he won his first national competition in the 50m,100m and 200m breaststroke. After graduating, Panayiotis received a full scholarship to swim for a university in the United Kingdom, Wales.

Panayiotis has had a successful athletic career thus far. In addition to his 16th place, he has also won gold at the British University Championship in the 50m breaststroke and 2nd place in the 100m breaststroke. He currently holds the Cyprus national record in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.

Panayiotis is known for his dedication to training and his ability to stay focused under pressure. He trains seven days a week, typically swimming two times a day and lifting weights in the gym. In the weeks leading up to a major competition, he increases his training intensity and fine-tunes his nutrition and recovery strategies.

When he's not training, Panayiotis enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing games, and watching movies. He is also involved in several charitable organizations and frequently uses his platform to raise awareness for causes he is passionate about, such as supporting youth with disabilities.

Panayiotis's ultimate goal is to compete at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In the meantime, he plans to continue competing at the highest level and inspiring the next generation of swimming athletes.
